China has completed the construction of 2,132 "quiet communities" across the country as part of its efforts to tackle noise pollution, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment said on February 12, 2025.

为推动解决群众家门口的噪声污染问题，共同维护居住小区生活环境和谐安宁，生态环境部推动打造一批“消除杂音、睡得安心”的宁静小区。截至目前，全国共建设完成宁静小区2132个，不断提升群众的生态环境获得感、幸福感、安全感。

随着蓝天、碧水、净土保卫战取得显著成效，噪声污染问题逐渐成为制约生态文明建设与美丽中国建设的一个短板。防治噪声污染，是事关群众切身利益的大事。2024年生态环境部研究起草的《关于推进宁静小区建设的指导意见（征求意见稿）》提出，打造一批“消除杂音、睡得安心”的宁静小区；到2027年，各省（自治区、直辖市）宁静小区建设评价管理体系基本完善；到2035年，宁静小区成为居住小区的普遍标准。

近五年来，全国城市声环境质量总体向好，声环境功能区昼间、夜间达标率均呈现上升趋势。为了连续监测声环境质量，更科学地反映声环境状况，生态环境部推动功能区声环境质量自动监测系统建设工作，截至2024年12月底，338个地级及以上城市完成4005个点位的自动监测系统建设。此外，依法逐步将排放工业噪声的企业事业单位和其他经营者纳入排污许可管理，推动排污单位申请取得排污许可证或者填报排污登记表。截至目前，约17.7万家工业企业将噪声纳入排污许可证管理，“十四五”期间工业噪声排污许可管理将实现全覆盖。
