Senator Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, on Wednesday called on Congress to investigate whether President Donald Trump engaged in insider trading or market manipulation when he abruptly paused a sweeping set of tariffs, a move that sent stock prices skyrocketing.

“冷静点！一切都会好起来的。” 美东时间上午，就在美股开盘几分钟后，特朗普在其自创的社媒平台“真实社交”上发帖称。“美国将比以往任何时候都更强大、更强大！”他随后补充道：“现在是买入的好时机！！！DJT。”

"BE COOL," Trump told his followers on social media after the markets opened. Just a couple of minutes later he wrote, "THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!! DJT."

“DJT”既是特朗普姓名的首字母，也是特朗普媒体科技集团（Trump Media & Technology）的股票代码。特朗普媒体科技集团是“真实社交”的母公司，特朗普持有该公司多数股权。

几小时后，特朗普宣布对不采取报复行动的国家或地区实施90天的关税暂停。这一消息引发美股强劲反弹，推动标准普尔500指数当日飙升逾9%。

这一系列操作随即引发民主党人强烈质疑。希夫在接受《时代周刊》采访时表示：“我会尽力查明真相。家族模因币以及其他类似行为，可能涉及内幕交易或中饱私囊。”

"I'm going to do my best to find out," Schiff tells TIME. "Family meme coins and all the rest of it are not beyond insider trading or enriching themselves. I hope to find out soon."

"The President of the United States is literally engaging in the world’s biggest market manipulation scheme," the Democrats from the House Committee on Financial Services posted on X on Wednesday afternoon.
