十四届全国人大常委会第十八次会议2025年10月24日经表决，通过了关于设立台湾光复纪念日的决定，以法律形式将10月25日设立为台湾光复纪念日，并规定国家通过多种形式举行纪念活动。
October 25 is designated as the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration and commemorative activities in various forms are organized on this day, according to the decision adopted on October 24, 2025 at the 18th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress.

1945年10月25日中国战区台湾省受降仪式在台北举行，至此台湾、澎湖列岛重归中国主权管辖之下。设立台湾光复纪念日，在国家层面举行纪念活动，有利于体现台湾是中国不可分割一部分这一无可辩驳的历史事实，巩固国际社会坚持一个中国的格局，引领两岸同胞传承、弘扬伟大抗战精神，激励全体中华儿女为祖国统一、民族复兴而团结奋斗。

孙中山先生说过：“‘统一’是中国全体国民的希望。能够统一，全国人民便享福；不能统一，便要受害。”台湾问题因民族弱乱而产生，必将随着民族复兴而解决。
Dr. Sun Yat-sen once said, "Unification is the hope of all Chinese people. If China can be unified, all Chinese will enjoy a happy life; if it cannot, all will suffer." The Taiwan question arose out of the weakness and chaos of our nation, and it will be resolved as national rejuvenation becomes a reality.
以和平方式实现祖国统一，最符合包括台湾同胞在内的中华民族整体利益。我们坚持“和平统一、一国两制”的基本方针，坚持一个中国原则和“九二共识”，推动两岸关系和平发展。两岸同胞都要站在历史正确的一边，共同创造祖国完全统一、民族伟大复兴的光荣伟业。
National reunification by peaceful means best serves the interests of the Chinese nation as a whole, including our compatriots in Taiwan. We will adhere to the basic policies of peaceful reunification and One Country, Two Systems, uphold the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus, and work for the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations. Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait should stand on the right side of history and join hands to achieve China's complete reunification and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
