9月11日上午，清华大学图书馆。推开阅览室的大门，绿色台灯下一排排木质书桌安静地等待着新学期的主人。
这是一座图书馆的普通一天，却也是一场正在发生的高校图书馆角色重构的缩影。
It is just an ordinary day at the library, yet it encapsulates the ongoing transformation of the role of university libraries.
走进清华大学图书馆的“玻璃书库”，仿佛踏入了一条凝固时光的隧道。
阳光透过窗户洒落，照在那一排排见证百年学脉的书架上——钱钟书求学时曾豪言“横扫清华图书馆”，所指正是这里。
When you step into the “Glass Stacks” of Tsinghua University Library, you will feel as if entering a tunnel where time stands still.
Sunlight streams through the windows and falls upon rows of bookshelves that bear witness to a century of academic legacy. It was here that Qian Zhongshu, during his studies, famously vowed to “read his way through Tsinghua University Library.”
两侧泛着金属冷光的钢制书架高耸如壁、夹道排开，上面有多语种的藏书，书脊斑驳，有些还留存着前辈学人当年的批注。
清华大学图书馆古籍特藏部副主任尹昕道出了深层的理念：“同学们看到这些书，看到这个书库，有一种身临其境的融入感。它不仅是先辈学长曾经求学走过的足迹，也反映了中国图书馆事业的发展。”
如果说“玻璃书库”让青年看见了知识的传承，那么同一座老馆里的“大师书屋”，则让他们看见了传承背后的人。
步入清华大学老馆的钱杨书屋，时间仿佛在这里凝固成永恒。几组木质玻璃书柜靠墙而立，泛黄的书籍整齐排列，散发着岁月的馨香。
Step into the “Qian Zhongshu and Yang Jiang Study” in the old building of Tsinghua University Library, and time seems to freeze into eternity. Several sets of wooden glass bookcases stand against the walls, with yellowed books neatly lined up, exuding the subtle fragrance of years gone by.
书柜上方，他们的肖像温和而深邃地注视着这个空间。这里的每一件家具、每一本书、每一处细节，都不仅仅是陈设，而是一种无声的讲述。
Every piece of furniture, every book and every detail here is more than mere furnishings; they tell a story in silence.
图书馆古籍特藏部主任何玉这样说道：“杨绛女士说读书就好比串门，一本一本书就好像去一个人家串门。这不仅仅是读书，而且是读他的人生。”
让青年感知文化的温度
到了北京师范大学，教材构成了一条独特的“文脉”展示线。走进图书馆，明亮的灯光下，一字排开的木质玻璃展柜里平放着不同时期的代表性教材。走在展柜旁，就像穿梭在中国教育史的时光隧道中。
图书馆副研究馆员胡沈秋介绍，“教材是这个时代非常重要的一部分，而且你长成什么样的人，教材基本上塑造了你。”
The textbook exhibition at Beijing Normal University forms a unique display line showcasing the educational “cultural lineage”. Hu Shenqiu, an associate research librarian of the library, introduced, “Textbooks are a vital part of this era. To a large extent, they shape who you grow up to be.”
当这些教材被陈列在图书馆里，它们就不再只是教学的工具，而成为一代代人精神成长的见证——青年在这里看到的不仅是知识，更是自己从何而来、将往何处去的答案。
北京师范大学教育经济与管理专业学生苏舜禹说：“过去的教材一直到今天，看到的更是一代代人的成长印记。”
Su Shunyu, a student majoring in Educational Economics and Management at Beijing Normal University, said, “Textbooks from the past up to today are more like imprints of growth for generations of people.”
“变的是教材，但不变的是教育育人、启迪心智的初心一直在。”
“Textbooks change, yet the original aspiration of education — to nurture people and enlighten minds — endures,” Su said.
青年精神成长的“第三空间”
当文化从“看见”走向“感知”，图书馆的角色也随之改变。它既不是课堂，也不是博物馆，而是一个介于两者之间的“第三空间”。
As culture evolves from being “seen” to being “felt”, the role of libraries is also transforming. It is neither a classroom nor a museum, but a “third space” sitting in between.
踏入北京大学图书馆的通识参阅厅，视线中央，一座高达5.4米的木质书塔拔地而起，层层叠叠的典籍拾级而上，宛如一座知识的灯塔。塔外环绕着周长54米的蓝色水波书架，宛如知识的波纹层层荡漾。
Step into the General Education & Course Reference Hall of Peking University Library. At the center of view stands a 5.4-meter-tall wooden book tower. Layer upon layer of ancient tomes climb upward like a beacon of knowledge. Encircling the tower is a blue rippling bookshelf with a perimeter of 54 meters, resembling spreading ripples of knowledge.
图书馆知识中心主任张乃帅说，通识参阅厅的设计初衷是希望把北大文化融入其中，“让读者即便不在参阅厅阅读，经过的时候都有这样一种氛围，在潜移默化中加深对北大文化的体会。”
Zhang Naishuai, director of the Knowledge Resource Service Center of Peking University Library, said the General Education & Course Reference Hall was designed with the intention of integrating Peking University’s culture into the space. "We hope visitors can feel the atmosphere even when they are not reading here, simply by passing through. In this subtle way, they gain a deeper understanding of Peking University’s culture."
“我们希望通过这种方式，加强读者或师生们对传统文化的理解。”
走进中央民族大学图书馆知行文库，一扇中式月洞窗映入眼帘，苍翠的竹影与室内齐整的木质书墙相映成趣。
不同民族的学生围坐在长木桌旁。一位老师正站在屏幕前侃侃而谈；学生们或仰头倾听，或低头记录，偶尔有目光的交汇与低声的探讨。在这个融合了传统美学与现代教学的空间里，各民族青年围坐一堂，知识与思想在平等的对话中流动。
Students of different ethnic groups sit around a long wooden table in the MUC Praxis Archive of Minzu University of China Library. A teacher stands before the screen, speaking with ease. Some students look up and listen attentively, while others bow their heads to take notes. Now and then, their eyes meet and they engage in quiet discussions. Within this space blending traditional aesthetics and modern teaching, young people from different ethnic groups gather together. Knowledge and ideas flow through equal dialogue.
中国少数民族语言文学学院学生吉日克牛说，这种教学形式“不同于课堂教学，很多学生一块上课的那种形式，会有更多的收获”。
新时代，当青年在图书馆里驻足，他们触摸到的不再仅是泛黄的纸页，更是文明延续的根系。
正如清华大学图书馆馆长金兼斌所说：“图书馆沉淀了一个大学的历史和品位。每个大学都有自己的历史和使命。大学图书馆是一个无声的、潜移默化的、春风化雨式的场所和渠道。”
As Jin Jianbin, director of Tsinghua University Library and professor, put it: “Libraries embody a university’s historical heritage and cultural temperament. Every university boasts its unique history and mission. Serving as a silent and nurturing venue, the university library exerts a subtle and enlightening influence on students.”（记者 张微）
