14年前，我们实现了中华民族的百年奥运梦；14年后，我们又踏上了新的奥运之旅！我们见证北京成为全球首个“双奥之城”；我们见证中国为奥林匹克运动续写“冰雪”传奇！

习近平总书记强调：“我们不仅要办好一届冬奥盛会，而且要办出特色、办出精彩、办出独一无二来。”在习近平总书记亲自决策、亲自推动下，一届简约、安全、精彩的奥运盛会激情开启，不仅为各国各地区冰雪健儿提供了超越自我的舞台，也为疫情困扰下的世界注入强大信心和力量。

作为一名从事新闻摄影工作30年的摄影记者，能成为拍摄北京奥运会和北京冬奥会的“双奥之人”，并带领中国摄协冬奥会摄影小分队开展采访报道，我感到无比骄傲和自豪。我们是“冰雪奥运”的记录者，是见证者，更是思考者。不断捕捉令人眼前一亮的照片、铭记永久的感动，在赛场上体现中国文艺工作者的担当和风范，并以此为契机讲述中国故事、彰显奥运精神，既是挑战，是乐趣，也是责任。

中国日报社于2003年创办“百名摄影师聚焦”项目。这本《百名摄影师聚焦冰雪奥运》是第二十三本“聚焦”画册，也实现了“双奥画册”的梦想。揽卷细看，一幅幅精彩生动的瞬间再次把我们拉回了现场，国内外运动健儿跨越国籍、跨越种族的拥抱和赛场上的精彩表现展现了体育精神的魅力，冬残奥选手奋力拼搏的英姿彰显自强不息的人类之光，“3亿人参与冰雪运动”的快乐瞬间呈现了阳光、开放、充满希望的中国形象……

冰雪五环下，写着所有代表团名字的一朵朵“小雪花”，共同构建成一朵“大雪花”。希望这些照片也能成为一朵漂亮的“雪花”，飘到每一个关注北京冬奥会、关注冰雪运动的人的心里，更能成为一颗文明交流互鉴的“种子”，推动人类文明进步和世界和平发展。

Fourteen years ago, we realized the centenary Olympic dream of the Chinese nation; fourteen years later, we embarked on a new Olympic journey! We have witnessed Beijing becoming the world’s first city to host both the summer and winter editions of Olympic Games; we have witnessed China writing a new chapter of ice and snow for the Olympic Movement! 

President Xi Jinping said: “We should not only ensure success in hosting a grand Winter Olympic Games, but also make it special, wonderful and unique.” With decision-making and encouragement by Xi, a simple, safe and splendid Olympic Games opened with great passion, which not only provided a stage for ice and snow athletes from different countries and regions to outdo themselves, but also injected strong confidence and vigor into a world plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A photojournalist for 30 years, I am extremely proud to be a “dual Olympic person” who shot photos for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games; and led the photography team of the China Photographers Association to cover the Winter Games. We are the recorders, witnesses and thinkers of the Olympics in ice and snow, constantly capturing eye-catching photos, bearing in mind the touching moments, honoring the responsibility and commitment of Chinese artists in the field, taking this as an opportunity to tell China stories and highlighting the Olympic spirit — this is not only a challenge, but also a pleasure and a duty.

China Daily launched the “100 Photographers Focus” project in 2003. This book, 100 Photographers Focus on Winter Olympics, is the 23rd edition of the project, and has also realized the dream of becoming a “dual Olympic album”. Take a closer look at it, and wonderful and vivid moments once again transport us back to the scenes where Chinese and foreign athletes hug together transcending nationalities and nations, and their wonderful performances on the field showcased the charm of the sporting spirit. The heroic performances of the Paralympic athletes show the brightness of humankind’s continuous self-improvement, and the happy moments of 300 million Chinese participating in ice and snow sports present a sunny, open and hopeful image of China.

Under the five rings of ice and snow were blossoming “small snowflakes” with the names of all the delegations to form a “big snowflake”. It is hoped that these photos will become a beautiful «snowflake» as well, etched into the hearts of everyone who pays attention to ice and snow sports and become a seed for cultural exchanges and mutual learning to promote the progress of human civilization and peaceful development of the world.
