回首百年征程，我们深刻领悟到，中国共产党是代表中国历史前进方向的最高政治领导力量，始终准确把握现代中国发展进步的历史主动，始终深深扎根人民群众，始终致力于为人类进步事业做贡献，始终大步走在时代发展前沿，从诞生到出征，以“开天辟地”“百折不挠”的伟大奋斗，团结带领中国人民救亡图存、振兴中华，书写了波澜壮阔、改天换地的伟大历史篇章。

站在“两个一百年”奋斗目标的历史交汇点上，中国日报社积极对外讲好中国故事、讲好中国共产党的故事，并发挥“百名摄影师聚焦”项目的优势，通过摄影师的镜头记录中国人民在党的领导下建设新时代、建设新生活的美好图景，以光影艺术直观讲述广袤神州大地上的发展进步，并向世界宣示：今天的中国从筚路蓝缕、艰苦奋斗的历史中走来，新时代的中国将迎来辉煌灿烂、民族复兴的明天。

5月27日，习近平总书记致信祝贺中国日报创刊40周年，对新形势下中国日报的目标任务提出明确要求，充分体现了党中央对国际传播工作的高度重视、对中国日报的亲切关怀，为我们做好工作指明了努力方向、提供了重要遵循。我们将牢记联接中外、沟通世界的职责，坚持守正创新，勇于担当作为，传播好习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想，讲述好中国共产党的故事，展示好丰富多彩、立体生动的中国形象，为促进中国与世界交流沟通做出新贡献。

To celebrate the centenary of the Communist Party of China, China Daily is publishing The 100 Photographers Focus on New Era to fully reflect the Chinese people’s embrace of a better life in the new era under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.

In the journey over the past century, we demonstrate the leading role of the CPC in deciding the development direction of the country, its constant commitment to grasping opportunities in modern China’s development and progress, its taking root in the masses, contributing to human development, and leading global growth. With indomitable will, the CPC has been uniting and leading people on the great journey through brambles and thorns to save and revitalize the Chinese nation. It has written an earth-shaking and world-changing chapter in history.

As this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the country embarks on a mission toward building a modern socialist country, China Daily is committed to telling China and CPC stories well to the outside world. It employs photographers across the country to frame the moments of the Chinese people building a new era and a new life under the CPC’s leadership, and to interpret the progress achieved in the country through their lenses. The album shows the world how arduous struggles have led China to embrace a splendid rejuvenation in the new era.

In a letter released on May 27 to congratulate the 40th anniversary of the launch of China Daily, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, commended the important role played by China Daily and voiced great expectations that the media group will better fulfill its duties and mission and make new contributions at a new starting point. The letter shows the great importance that the CPC Central Committee attaches to reporting for the outside world, and outlines the direction, and provides guideline for our mission. We will be upright and innovative to continue to expand our global outreach and influence, to publicize and expound Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to tell CPC stories well, to present a true and vivid image of China, and to become a key bridge connecting China and the world.
