The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), convened from Nov 8 to 14, 2012, set the goals of completing building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and of comprehensively deepening reform and opening-up. The congress expounded on the scientific meaning of the path, theory and system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and the relationships among the three.
