National fl ag is hoisted at half mast in Tian’anmen Square in Beijing as a sign of mourning for those who dedicated their lives for the fi ght against the novel coronavirus and those who were killed by the virus on April 4, 2020. This is the fi rst time that the People’s Republic of China had a national mourning day because of a public health emergency event.
